Picture 296

Unread post by Vance G »

What plastic foundation was that? I got quite a few frames with funky joinery between cells like that on Mann Lake PF frames when bees were initially shaken onto them. The ones I couldn't live with I scraped and had them rebuilt. The problem went away after the bees were accustomed to drawing the plastic frames. Are you against us filching a picture or two if attribution is made?

Picture 296 is PF-100 that I have had around for several years. I had a lot of that sort of thing when they were being drawn, although many were drawn perfectly. I seldom see that with Acorn or Pierco.

If you want to see more of that check out http://www.honeybeeworld.com/4dot9/4dot9.htm That is the original 4.9 foundation Dee had made offshore.

I continue to use the drawn PF-100s just like any other frame in my hives and the bees don't seem to care.

The other white frame with brood (308) is Acorn. 317 is Acorn as well.

You are welcome to use anything on this site for any reasonable purpose and appropriate attribution.
