IMO Speaking about the US Govt, when is the Govt ever resonable or protects its citizens? Here in the US we have laws for laws. I hate to say it but nothing makes sense in Govt these days. They just take more and more.
I hope things are different up north...

I think we're mostly happy with our government up here.
There are many things that could be better, but we have to be realistic.
Resources are limited and consensus is hard to reach sometimes.
Some may disagree.

Well, the government should serve the people and just function just as someone who oversees things to be in order. But I guess that it has somehow took quite a turn in terms of how they operate being more like leaders to make people follow.
I am not saying that all branches are like that but there are those who function and work as such.

I think that any government would always go with things that will better protect their citizens. Though that may come to the people living on the area as a way to take hold or control them.
You cannot blame the people are there really are some measures that are hard to keep up with and at some point, they might appear as interfering to their normal day life and work already.
