Tagged bees causing buzz in research

A study that infected and tracked individual bees "In a just published paper, researchers say infected bees were 4.3 times less likely to be carrying pollen than uninfected bees, and carried less pollen when they did. Infected bees also started working later, stopped working sooner and died younger."
I always wondered why one bee will have bulging pollen baskets and another little tiny balls of pollen. I do not see many with small loads of pollen just once in a while. It would be interesting to collect one and see if that bee has a high Nosema level.
