Tuesday September 11th, 2001, 2000 As I passed through the honey house, I was told that someone had flown an aircraft had hit the World Trade Center. As events unfolded, I became very glad I had returned home Monday night and not Tuesday as I usually do. If I had been scheduled for Tuesday, I would not have had an easy time getting home. Since Vancouver was an airport that accepted the incoming US flights from overseas that were diverted away from the USA for security reasons, the airport was plugged for several days starting Tuesday morning and all outbound flights were cancelled. We continue to remove supers and extract. I finally decided to re-install Windows from scratch and managed to get some access to my files, but most of my software will have to be re-installed.

We fooled around for a while and got it fixed. This put me a bit behind my schedule, but I caught the 4 PM ferry and got to Ron's in time to be driven to the airport. I caught my 8:15 flight to Calgary and was home by 11:30.
Sunday September 9th, 2001, 2000 After breakfast with Bruce, I caught the noon ferry for Victoria. Around two, I was near Eric's and called, but got a message, so I continued on to Victoria and spent the afternoon at Beacon Hill Park. Eric called and after supper with Gillian and Vince, I was off to see Eric and Marnie.
