Experiment Two
Spring Treatment of Nosema using Fumigillan in Pollen Patties
Experimenter: Eric Abell

Objective: to determine if it is advantageous to feed fumigillan in patties in the spring.
Method: Pollen supplement patties were made with and without fumigillan in the recipe. As I visited each yard, a 1 lb (approx) patty was placed on the top bars of all colonies. I selected 1 pallet and collected fees from the underside of the inner pillow from all 4 colonies (or 3 if there were only 3 available). I intend to sample these same colonies in a few weeks.
Question: Will there be a difference between those colonies that received fumigillan in the patty and those that did not? If so, how much?
