We find that on samples that are relatively clean ie. have been put through the fine screen (seive) we do not have to move up and down to see all the spores. On samples that are murky like the one you sent, Jon says he either had to focus up and down or skip some squares because of opacity. I think screening is a good idea. The small seives available at Wal-Mart or fine bronze coffee filters are probable candidataes for the job. We use the former.

We've been slacking off for th last week or so. I guess we'll have to get back at the project.
