I, too, believe that Nosema levels fall naturally. However, can we improve the situation with spring fumigillan in either patties or feed? I am taking a sample from 1 pallet in every yard and then giving them a patty. Some patties have fumigillan and others do not. I intend to sample the same colonies after the patty has been consumed. As some have nosama and some do not, I would consider the 'nots' to be control colonies. Let's see if the reduction is different with the treatment.
It would be great if you would do much the same thing and use fumigillan in some of your spring feed. Even if you do not add to the feed, how about taking some samples now and again in a few weeks. It will be interesting to see how much the levels drom naturally. I am assuming (perhaps falsely) that you will find Nosema in some of your colonies.
