One matter that has been investigated well in the past but which has failed to
convince most beekeepers the prevalence of, and necessity of treating for, nosema apis in producing
honeybee colonies. Moreover, the potential methods of application and the cost and convenience
of such methods are still subject to some doubt in the minds of the commercial and hobbyist beekeeper
alike, it seems.
We have at present tried two experiments. As non-scientist beekeepers, we
request and appreciate any comments and suggestions from scientists and extension people regarding our
assumptions, methods, equipment, observations or conclusions. I must say that trying to science
after only a few high school classes and some undergrad university labs makes one appreciate what real
scientists have to deal with.
Anyone is welcome to participate in the discussion groups, and to initiate or
