I admire your ambition. In the interests of making life easier (therefore helping to assure that you finish this task) I see no reason for filtering anything. Your loop will only pick up the liquid in any event. I do not find the trash to be a problem.

My experience is that I find either lots of spores or no spores. Your counts appear to be rather low and yet all are positive. Could you be misinterpreting some of the trash?
